Boeing YC-14

Boeing YC-14
The USAF/Boeing Advanced Medium STOL Transport is designed to land and take off from airfields 2000 ft. in length and fly at speeds of more than 400 knots up to 40,000 ft. altitudes. Two high by-pass engines in an over the wing position produce more than 50,000 Ibs. of take-off thrust each. Engine exhaust passing over the upper surface of the wing and trailing edge flap system can be drawn downward by the "Coanda effect." This produces sufficient lift to permit safe approach speeds of approximately 85 knots. STOL G.W. 160,000 Ibs; Length 131'8"; Wingspan 129 ft.
